ATTORNEY DISCIPLINE BOARD'S COMMENTS TO
PROPOSED MICHIGAN STANDARDS FOR IMPOSING LAWYER SANCTIONS

          On July 29, 2003, the Supreme Court published Proposed Michigan Standards for Imposing Lawyer Sanctions (See ADM File No. 2002-29), along with the underlying proposal from the Attorney Discipline Board submitted to the Court in June 2002 and alternative proposals submitted by attorney Donald D. Campbell in September 2002. A public hearing on the proposed Standards was conducted by the Court on September 25, 2005.

          The document link below is the Attorney Discipline Board’s comments to the Court regarding the published standards. These Comments are preceded by a summary of the ADB’s overarching concerns and a chart summarizing the Board’s support or opposition to the published standards.
